Snowboarding in the EU: From the Alps to Finland

Snowboarding in the EU does not start in the Alps. The Netherlands has the largest indoor snow hall in Europe. Finland runs parks at World Cup level. Portugal has exactly one natural ski area — and for riders on the ground it counts as much as Mayrhofen does for Austria. As distributor for the Union we cover the member states — and the neighbours that belong in practice: Switzerland, Norway, England and Turkey. The well-known Alpine destinations as well as the Pyrenees, Carpathians, Balkans, the North and local hills.

1. Alps — the reference

The Alps remain the benchmark. For snowboarders that is not only about size, but about the type of lifts, the absence of long flats and the quality of the parks. In the EU those areas sit in Austria, France, Italy, Germany and Slovenia. Switzerland belongs with them: Laax stands for the park at World Cup level, Zermatt and Verbier for altitude and mileage, Davos for several parks in one valley.

Mayrhofen is Penken Park and gondolas instead of T-bars. Ischgl delivers mileage on modern chairs. Sölden extends the season via the glacier. On the French side Avoriaz and Val Thorens are the clear snowboard addresses: ski-in/out, Stash Park, snow-sure height. Italy brings Livigno with Mottolino Park and Seiser Alm as the Dolomites park. Germany rides Garmisch/Zugspitze and Oberstdorf. Slovenia sits on the Alpine fringe: Vogel in Triglav National Park, Kranjska Gora with events and modern lifts.

Days in the Alps often mix: piste in the morning, park in the afternoon. That is what the Boardfinder is built for — give level and style, see matching carbon boards.

2. South — Pyrenees, Sierra Nevada, Parnassos

South of the Alps sits the largest blind spot in many guides. Spain has Formigal–Panticosa as its largest home resort and Baqueira Beret as the most reliable Pyrenean snow. Sierra Nevada combines altitude, sun and the Sulayr Park with a halfpipe — often into April.

France is not only Alps: Grand Tourmalet stands for the French Pyrenees. Portugal has Serra da Estrela, the country’s only natural ski area, around 2,000 metres. Greece rides Parnassos, with gondolas and reachable from Athens. Cyprus has Troodos on Olympos — short, high, locally relevant.

Turkey sits on the south-eastern edge: Palandöken and Erciyes deliver altitude and parks, Uludağ the scene near Istanbul. For riders in the region that counts the way Sierra Nevada counts for Andalusia.

3. Carpathians — Jasná, Tatra, Transylvania

Eastern and Central Europe are not a compromise. Jasná on Chopok in Slovakia is the Carpathians’ strongest freeride area: north and south faces, parks, a modern lift network. Poland rides Białka Tatrzańska and Szczyrk — dense local scene, snowparks, night riding. Czechia clusters Černá hora–Pec as the largest area and Špindlerův Mlýn as the classic.

Romania brings Poiana Brașov and Sinaia, with Transylvania as the frame rather than an après-ski cliché. Hungary stays mid-mountain: Síaréna Eplény is the real entry, not a stand-in for Ischgl. That distinction is what makes the map readable: category instead of size mania.

4. Balkans — Bansko and the Croatian proximity

Bansko in Bulgaria is the most affordable large EU area with a modern lift network and a park. Croatia rides closer to the cities: Sljeme above Zagreb is an after-work hill, Platak sits in the coastal hinterland and has a park. We kept Slovenia with the Alps, because Vogel and Kranjska Gora ride Alpine — geographically Balkan, on snow an Alpine edge.

5. North — parks that stand with the Alps

For freestyle, Finland is often the better address than some Alpine towns. Ruka runs at World Cup level, season often from October to May. Levi spreads several parks including a pipe. Sweden brings Åre, Scandinavia’s large all-round area in the EU.

Norway completes the picture: Trysil and Hemsedal are the big all-round addresses, Hafjell and Kvitfjell bring park and events. Northern lights, a long season, empty pistes — and parks that are taken seriously internationally.

6. Indoor and local hills

In the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, England and the Baltics the scene does not start at 2,000 metres. SnowWorld Landgraaf is the largest indoor hall in Europe, year-round, with park training. England rides indoor at Hemel Hempstead, Manchester and Milton Keynes, plus dry slopes and the natural hills Raise and Weardale. The Belgian Ardennes have small outdoor pistes, strongly snow-dependent. Denmark rides Hedeland plus a hall. Ireland uses dry slope and indoor. Estonia has Vimka near Tallinn, Lithuania Liepkalnis in Vilnius, Latvia Žagarkalns.

Which board for which area

Park in Ruka or Landgraaf, carving in Val Thorens, freeride in Jasná: the mountain sets the style, the board has to match. The Boardfinder asks for level and riding style and shows matching YONEX models. The map says where in Europe you ride. The finder says on what.

Snowboarden in der EU beginnt nicht erst in den Alpen. In den Niederlanden steht die größte Indoor-Halle Europas. In Finnland laufen Parks auf World-Cup-Niveau. In Portugal gibt es genau ein natürliches Skigebiet – und das zählt für Rider vor Ort genauso wie Mayrhofen für Österreich. Als Distributor für die gesamte Union bilden wir deshalb alle Mitgliedstaaten ab: die bekannten Alpengebiete ebenso wie Pyrenäen, Karpaten, Balkan, Norden und lokale Hügel.

1. Alpen – die EU-Referenz

Die Alpen bleiben das Maß. Für Snowboarder zählt dabei nicht nur die Weite, sondern die Art der Lifte, das Fehlen langer Flachstücke und die Qualität der Parks. In der EU liegen diese Gebiete in Österreich, Frankreich, Italien, Deutschland und Slowenien.

Mayrhofen steht für den Penken Park und Gondeln statt Schlepplifte. Ischgl liefert Mileage auf modernen Sesseln. Sölden verlängert die Saison über den Gletscher. Auf der französischen Seite sind Avoriaz und Val Thorens die klaren Snowboard-Adressen: ski-in/out, Stash Park, schneesichere Höhe. Italien bringt Livigno mit Mottolino-Park und Seiser Alm als Dolomiten-Park. Deutschland fährt über Garmisch/Zugspitze und Oberstdorf. 2. Süden – Pyrenäen, Sierra Nevada, Parnassos

Südlich der Alpen liegt der größte blinde Fleck vieler Guides. Spanien hat mit Formigal–Panticosa das größte eigene Gebiet und mit Baqueira Beret den zuverlässigsten Pyrenäen-Schnee. Sierra Nevada kombiniert Höhe, Sonne und den Sulayr-Park mit Halfpipe – oft bis in den April.

Polen fährt in Białka Tatrzańska und Szczyrk – dichte lokale Szene, Snowparks, Nachtfahrt. Tschechien bündelt mit Černá hora–Pec das größte Gebiet und mit Špindlerův Mlýn den Klassiker.

Rumänien bringt Poiana Brașov und Sinaia, mit Transsilvanien als Rahmen statt Après-Ski-Klischee. Ungarn bleibt Mittelgebirge: Síaréna Eplény ist der reale Einstieg, nicht ein Ersatz für Ischgl. Genau diese Unterscheidung macht die Karte lesbar: Kategorie statt Größenwahn.

4. Balkan – Bansko und die kroatische Nähe

Bansko in Bulgarien ist das günstigste große EU-Gebiet mit modernem Liftnetz und Park. Kroatien fährt näher an den Städten: Sljeme oberhalb von Zagreb ist ein Feierabend-Berg, Platak liegt im Küstenhinterland und hat Park. Slowenien haben wir bei den Alpen gelassen, weil Vogel und Kranjska Gora alpin fahren – geografisch Balkan, fahrtechnisch Alpenrand.

5. Norden – Parks, die mit den Alpen mithalten

Finnland ist für Freestyle oft die bessere Adresse als mancher Alpenort. Ruka fährt World-Cup-Niveau, Saison häufig von Oktober bis Mai. Levi verteilt mehrere Parks inklusive Pipe. Schweden bringt mit Åre das große Allround-Gebiet Skandinaviens in der EU. Polarlicht, lange Saison, leere Pisten – und Parks, die international ernst genommen werden.

6. Indoor und lokale Hügel

In den Niederlanden, Belgien, Dänemark, Irland und im Baltikum beginnt die Szene nicht auf 2000 Metern. SnowWorld Landgraaf ist die größte Indoor-Halle Europas, ganzjährig, mit Park-Training. Die belgischen Ardennen haben kleine Outdoor-Pisten, stark schneeabhängig. Dänemark fährt Hedeland plus Halle. Irland nutzt Trockenpiste und Indoor. Die Snowboard-Saison 2025/26 neigt sich dem Ende zu und die Bilanz für das Yonex-Team ist schlichtweg atemberaubend. Mit Doppel-Kristallkugeln, Weltcup-Siegen und den ersten Titeln in der neu geschaffenen „Snow League“ haben unsere Fahrerinnen und Fahrer einmal mehr bewiesen, dass die japanische Carbon-Technologie im internationalen Spitzenfeld das Maß aller Dinge ist.

Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Dominanz in der Halfpipe und im Park & Pipe, wo das Team Yonex die Konkurrenz regelmäßig hinter sich ließ.

Hier sind die Highlights einer außergewöhnlichen Saison:

Yuto Totsuka: Der König der Lüfte sichert sich das Double

Yuto Totsuka hat eine Saison der Superlative hinter sich. Beim Weltcup-Finale in Silvaplana krönte er seine Leistung mit einem überragenden Sieg und sicherte sich damit gleich zwei der begehrten Kristallkugeln:

Gewinner des Halfpipe-Gesamtweltcups (seine vierte Kristallkugel insgesamt).
Gewinner des Park & Pipe Gesamtweltcups , was ihn zum vielseitigsten und konstantesten Rider der Saison macht.
Zusätzlich feierte er den Gesamtsieg in der ersten Saison der hochkarätigen „The Snow League“ .

Sena Tomita: Historischer Sieg in der „Snow League“

Auch bei den Frauen gab es Grund zum Jubeln auf höchstem Niveau. Sena Tomita schrieb Geschichte, indem sie sich zur ersten Frauen-Gesamtsiegerin der „Snow League“ krönte. Mit konstanten Podestplätzen im Weltcup – darunter zweite Plätze in Copper Mountain und Sapporo sowie ein dritter Platz in Aspen – festigte sie ihren Status als eine der weltbesten Halfpipe-Fahrerinnen und belegte Rang 4 im Gesamtweltcup.

Die „Next Generation“ fliegt aufs Podium

Neben den etablierten Stars zeigten unsere jungen Talente, dass die Zukunft von Yonex in sicheren Händen liegt:

Rise Kudo: Nach ihrem spektakulären Silber-Debüt bei den X Games setzte sie ihre Erfolgsserie fort und sicherte sich unter anderem einen hervorragenden zweiten Platz beim Snow League Finale in Laax.
Sara Shimizu: Sie feierte einen ihrer größten Karriereerfolge mit dem Sieg beim Snow League Event in Laax und bewies, dass sie zur absoluten Weltspitze gehört.
Kira Kimura: Der letztjährige Kristallkugel-Gewinner blieb auch diese Saison brandgefährlich und sicherte sich unter anderem ein starkes Weltcup-Podium (Platz 2) beim Big Air in Peking.

Ein starkes Team auf breiter Front

Der Erfolg von Yonex in dieser Saison ist eine Teamleistung. Ruka Hirano zeigte gewohnt technische Perfektion und beendete die Snow League Saison auf einem starken dritten Gesamtrang. Auch Ruki Tomita , Hiroaki Kunitake , Haku Shimasaki und Alessandro Barbieri lieferten über die gesamte Saison hinweg Top-Ergebnisse im Weltcup ab und sammelten wichtige Punkte für das Team.

Überlegene Technik als Schlüssel zum Erfolg

Yonex athletes dominate the World Cup and celebrate historic results

The 2025/26 snowboard season is drawing to a close, and the record for the Yonex team is simply outstanding. With double crystal globes, World Cup wins and the first titles in the newly created “Snow League”, our riders have once again shown that Japanese carbon technology is the benchmark at the very top of the sport.

Particularly striking is the dominance in halfpipe and park & pipe, where Team Yonex regularly left the field behind.

Here are the highlights of an extraordinary season:

Yuto Totsuka: the king of the air takes the double

Yuto Totsuka has come through a season of superlatives. At the World Cup final in Silvaplana he crowned his campaign with a commanding win and secured two of the coveted crystal globes:

Winner of the halfpipe overall World Cup (his fourth crystal globe in total).
Winner of the park & pipe overall World Cup, making him the most versatile and consistent rider of the season.
He also took the overall win in the first season of the high-calibre “The Snow League”.

Sena Tomita: historic win in the “Snow League”

There was reason to celebrate at the highest level on the women’s side as well. Sena Tomita wrote history by becoming the first women’s overall winner of the “Snow League”. With consistent World Cup podiums — including second places in Copper Mountain and Sapporo and a third in Aspen — she cemented her status as one of the world’s best halfpipe riders and finished 4th in the overall World Cup.

The “next generation” flies onto the podium

Alongside the established stars, our young talent showed that Yonex’s future is in safe hands:

Rise Kudo: after her spectacular silver debut at the X Games she kept the run going and took, among other results, an excellent second place at the Snow League final in Laax.
Sara Shimizu: she celebrated one of the biggest results of her career with the win at the Snow League event in Laax and showed she belongs at the very top of the sport.
Kira Kimura: last season’s crystal-globe winner stayed dangerous and took a strong World Cup podium (2nd) in Big Air in Beijing, among other results.

A strong team across the board

Yonex’s success this season is a team result. Ruka Hirano showed his usual technical precision and finished the Snow League season in a strong third overall. Ruki Tomita, Hiroaki Kunitake, Haku Shimasaki and Alessandro Barbieri also delivered top World Cup results across the season and collected important points for the team.

Die Saison 2025/2026 steuert auf ihren emotionalen Höhepunkt zu. Von den verschneiten Gipfeln in Laax bis hin zur legendären Superpipe in Aspen – unsere Athletinnen und Athleten haben in den letzten Monaten bewiesen, was mit unermüdlichem Training, Fokus und purer Leidenschaft für den Sport möglich ist. Kurz vor den großen Entscheidungen in blicken wir voller Stolz auf eine bewegte Zeit zurück.

Rise Kudo: Ein beeindruckendes Debüt

Die Geschichte dieses Winters gehört zweifellos Rise Kudo. Mit gerade einmal 16 Jahren sicherte sie sich bei ihrem Debüt in Aspen die Silbermedaille in der Superpipe. Schon zuvor in Laax beeindruckte sie durch ihre außergewöhnliche Höhe und Präzision. Rise steht stellvertretend für eine neue Generation, die den Sport mit Mut und Leichtigkeit bereichert. Wir freuen uns darauf, ihre weitere Reise zu begleiten.

Präzision in der Luft: Kira Kimura & Hiroaki Kunitake

Auch im Big Air und Slopestyle gab es Gänsehautmomente. Kira Kimura bestätigte seine Form mit einer Bronzemedaille in Aspen, nachdem er bereits bei Weltcups in Beijing und Steamboat auf dem Podium stand. Hiroaki Kunitake beeindruckt weiterhin durch seine kreativen Lines und seine Beständigkeit, die ihn zu einem Vorbild für viele junge Rider machen.

Die Giganten der Halfpipe: Totsuka, Hirano und Barbieri

In der Halfpipe erleben wir aktuell einen historischen Wettkampf auf höchstem Niveau. Yuto Totsuka und Ruka Hirano liefern sich weiterhin packende Duelle an der Weltspitze – mit Erfolgen in Copper Mountain und Secret Garden. Ein besonderes Highlight setzte der junge Alessandro Barbieri, der mit seinen technischen Innovationen die Grenzen des Sports verschiebt und in diesem Winter eindrucksvoll unter Beweis stellte, dass die Zukunft bereits begonnen hat.

Inspiration und Teamgeist: Die Tomita-Schwestern und Sara Shimizu

Besonders stolz sind wir auf die geschlossene Teamleistung unserer Athletinnen. Sena und Ruki Tomita zeigten in Laax mit ihren Top-5-Platzierungen ihre Klasse. Sara Shimizu krönte ihren Winter bereits im Dezember mit ihrem ersten Weltcup-Sieg und unterstrich damit ihren Platz in der absoluten Weltelite.

Der Fokus bleibt geschärft

Mit wertvollen Erfahrungen und großen Erfolgen im Gepäck reist das Team nun nach Italien. Es ist die Leidenschaft jedes Einzelnen, die diesen Winter so besonders macht. Wir drücken allen Athletinnen und Athleten die Daumen für die kommenden Tage!

From the snow-covered peaks in Laax to the legendary superpipe in Aspen — our athletes have shown in recent months what relentless training, focus and pure passion for the sport can do. Shortly before the big decisions, we look back with pride on a full winter.

Rise Kudo: an impressive debut

The story of this winter belongs without question to Rise Kudo. At just 16 she took silver in the superpipe on her Aspen debut. In Laax before that she already stood out for exceptional amplitude and precision. Rise stands for a new generation that is enriching the sport with courage and ease. We look forward to following her journey.

Precision in the air: Kira Kimura & Hiroaki Kunitake

There were goosebump moments in Big Air and slopestyle as well. Kira Kimura confirmed his form with bronze in Aspen after already standing on World Cup podiums in Beijing and Steamboat. Hiroaki Kunitake continues to impress with creative lines and consistency that make him a reference for many young riders.

The giants of the halfpipe: Totsuka, Hirano and Barbieri

In the halfpipe we are watching a historic contest at the highest level. Yuto Totsuka and Ruka Hirano keep trading blows at the top of the world — with results in Copper Mountain and Secret Garden. A particular highlight came from young Alessandro Barbieri, who is shifting the limits of the sport with technical innovation and this winter made it clear that the future has already begun.

Inspiration and team spirit: the Tomita sisters and Sara Shimizu

We are especially proud of the closed team performance of our women. Sena and Ruki Tomita showed their class in Laax with top-5 finishes. Sara Shimizu already crowned her winter in December with her first World Cup win and underlined her place in the absolute world elite.

The focus stays sharp

With valuable experience and big results in the bag, the team now travels to Italy. It is the passion of each rider that makes this winter special. We are backing every athlete for the days ahead.

X Games 2026: Rise Kudo holt Silber beim Debüt – Kira Kimura fliegt zu Bronze

Die größte Show im Snowboarden hat geliefert! Bei den X Games Aspen 2026 zeigten die Yonex-Athleten, dass die Zukunft bereits begonnen hat. Mit zwei Medaillen und historischen Tricks im Gepäck verlässt das Team den Buttermilk Mountain mit breiter Brust.

Nur wenige Wochen vor den Olympischen Spielen in Mailand-Cortina war Aspen der ultimative Gradmesser. Unter den Flutlichtern der Superpipe und auf dem massiven Big-Air-Kicker bewies die nächste Generation des Yonex-Teams, dass sie bereit für die Weltspitze ist.

Sensation in der Superpipe: Rise Kudo gewinnt Silber

Es war die Story des Wochenendes: Die erst 16-jährige Rise Kudo stürmte bei ihrem X-Games-Debüt direkt auf das Podium. Unbeeindruckt von der Kulisse und der legendären Konkurrenz zeigte Kudo einen Lauf voller technischer Raffinesse und Style.

Mit enormer Amplitude und sauber gestandenen Hits sicherte sie sich die Silbermedaille in der Women's Snowboard Superpipe. Dieser Erfolg bestätigt ihren kometenhaften Aufstieg in dieser Saison und macht sie endgültig zur Medaillenhoffnung für Mailand. Auch Sena Tomita und Ruki Tomita zeigten starke Leistungen im Finale und bewiesen, wie dicht die Leistungsdichte im japanischen Team aktuell ist.

Kira Kimura: Big Air Bronze mit technischer Perfektion

Im Men’s Big Air Contest, wo das Level der Rotationen Jahr für Jahr neu definiert wird, setzte Kira Kimura ein massives Ausrufezeichen.

Mit der Präzision, für die Yonex-Boards bekannt sind, landete Kimura seine schwersten Tricks punktgenau und sicherte sich die Bronzemedaille . In einem Feld, in dem jeder Fehler bestraft wurde, behielt er die Nerven und holte sich sein verdientes Edelmetall. Für Hiroaki Kunitake , der ebenfalls für seine kreativen Lines bekannt ist, war Aspen eine weitere wichtige Station, um sein Setup für die kommenden olympischen Slopestyle-Kurse zu optimieren.

Halfpipe Herren: Totsuka, Hirano und der "History Maker" Barbieri

The biggest show in snowboarding delivered. At X Games Aspen 2026 the Yonex athletes showed that the future has already begun. With two medals and historic tricks in the bag, the team left Buttermilk Mountain with their heads high.

Only a few weeks before the Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, Aspen was the ultimate benchmark. Under the floodlights of the superpipe and on the massive Big Air kicker, the next generation of the Yonex team proved it is ready for the top of the world.

Sensation in the superpipe: Rise Kudo takes silver

It was the story of the weekend: 16-year-old Rise Kudo stormed onto the podium on her X Games debut. Unfazed by the setting and the legendary field, Kudo put down a run full of technical craft and style.

With huge amplitude and cleanly stomped hits she took the silver medal in the women’s snowboard superpipe. The result confirms her meteoric rise this season and makes her a medal hope for Milan. Sena Tomita and Ruki Tomita also showed strong finals and how dense the level currently is inside the Japanese team.

Kira Kimura: Big Air bronze with technical precision

In the men’s Big Air contest, where the rotation level is redefined every year, Kira Kimura made a massive statement.

With the precision Yonex boards are known for, Kimura landed his heaviest tricks on the mark and took the bronze medal. In a field where every mistake was punished, he kept his nerve and claimed his metal. For Hiroaki Kunitake, also known for creative lines, Aspen was another important stop to tune his setup for the coming Olympic slopestyle courses.

Men’s halfpipe: Totsuka, Hirano and “history maker” Barbieri

The men’s pipe was a firework. Yuto Totsuka and Ruka Hirano, the constants of the World Cup, showed their usual strong runs with massive airtime. Both used the perfect shape of the Aspen pipe to refine the details of their 1440 combinations.

Particular focus sat on Alessandro Barbieri. The young American, who made headlines in early January at the Aspen World Cup (U.S. Grand Prix) with a historic triple cork and 3rd place, confirmed his form. Barbieri now belongs to the circle of riders lifting the sport physically to a new level — supported by Yonex carbon technology.

Next stop: Milano Cortina 2026

X Games Aspen was more than a contest — it was the last big measure before the season highlight. With Rise Kudo’s silver, Kira Kimura’s bronze and the form of Totsuka, Hirano and Barbieri, the team is ready.

Bei den legendären LAAX OPEN, dem letzten großen Härtetest vor den Olympischen Winterspielen in Mailand-Cortina, zeigte das Yonex Snowboard Team eine geschlossene Mannschaftsleistung. Allen voran: Rise Kudo, die sich in der Halfpipe Silber sicherte.

Der Crap Sogn Gion in der Schweiz bot die perfekte Bühne für spektakuläre Action. Während die Welt auf die kommenden Spiele in Italien blickt, haben unsere Rider bewiesen, dass sie pünktlich zum Saisonhöhepunkt in Top-Form sind.

Women's Halfpipe: Rise Kudo glänzt mit Platz 2

Das Highlight aus Yonex-Sicht lieferte die junge Rise Kudo. In einem hochklassigen Finale behielt sie die Nerven und zauberte einen Run in die Pipe, der von den Judges mit starken 82.75 Punkten belohnt wurde. Damit sicherte sie sich den 2. Platz und unterstrich ihre Medaillenambitionen für Februar.

Doch sie war nicht allein an der Spitze. Das gesamte Damen-Team zeigte eine beeindruckende Dominanz in den Top 10:

Sena Tomita verpasste das Podium nur knapp und belegte mit 70.75 Punkten einen starken 4. Platz.

Direkt dahinter folgte ihre Schwester Ruki Tomita auf Platz 5 (70.00 Punkte).

Auch Nachwuchstalent Sara Shimizu schaffte den Sprung ins Finale der besten Zwölf und beendete den Contest auf Platz 10.

Men's Halfpipe: Starke Qualifikation und Top-10-Finishes

Bei den Herren war das Niveau astronomisch hoch. Ruka Hirano hielt die Yonex-Fahne im Finale hoch und landete mit 73.25 Punkten auf einem soliden 5. Platz. Er zeigte einmal mehr, dass sein technisches Repertoire zur absoluten Weltspitze gehört.

Besonders in der Qualifikation ließen unsere Rider ihre Muskeln spielen:

Alessandro Barbieri dominierte seinen Heat und qualifizierte sich als Erster (87.00 Punkte) souverän für das Finale, wo er schließlich Neunter wurde.

Auch Yuto Totsuka zeigte in der Vorrunde seine Klasse, qualifizierte sich als Zweiter seines Heats mit massiven 94.00 Punkten und beendete das Finale auf Platz 7.

Slopestyle: Kira Kimura in den Top 8

Im Slopestyle-Kurs von Laax, der den Fahrern alles abverlangte, bewies Kira Kimura seine Vielseitigkeit. Er kämpfte sich durch ein starkes internationales Feld und belegte am Ende den 7. Platz. Ein wichtiges Ergebnis, das Selbstvertrauen für die kommenden Big-Air- und Slopestyle-Events gibt.

Road to Milano 2026

Die Ergebnisse aus Laax senden eine klare Botschaft: Das Setup passt, die Form stimmt. Mit einem Podiumsplatz und zahlreichen Top-Platzierungen im Rücken reist das Yonex-Team nun mit breiter Brust nach Italien.

Women’s halfpipe: Rise Kudo shines in 2nd

The Yonex highlight came from young Rise Kudo. In a high-class final she kept her nerve and produced a run that took her onto the podium in 2nd.

She was not alone at the top. The entire women’s team showed impressive depth inside the top 10:

Sena Tomita missed the podium only narrowly and took a strong 4th with 70.75 points.

Directly behind her, her sister Ruki Tomita finished 5th (70.00 points).

Young talent Sara Shimizu also made the final twelve and finished the contest in 10th.

Men’s halfpipe: strong qualifying and top-10 finishes

On the men’s side the level was astronomically high. Ruka Hirano kept the Yonex flag up in the final and landed a solid result with 73.25 points.

Qualifying in particular showed the team’s strength:

Genting Resort Secret Garden, China – Die Snow League 2025 hat im olympischen Superpipe von Peking für atemberaubende Action gesorgt. Das YONEX Snowboard Team zeigte eine geschlossene Mannschaftsleistung und sicherte sich zwei Podiumsplätze sowie weitere Top-Platzierungen unter den besten 5.

Herren: Totsuka wird Zweiter, Barbieri und Hirano in den Top 5

Das Finale der Männer war an Spannung nicht zu überbieten. Unser Superstar Yuto Totsuka, der Sieger des Auftakt-Events in Aspen, kämpfte sich erneut bis in das entscheidende Duell vor.

Gegen Ayumu Hirano lieferte sich Yuto einen epischen Schlagabtausch. Nachdem er im zweiten Run mit einem Weltklasse-Lauf konterte, musste die Entscheidung im dritten Run fallen. Mit massiver Amplitude und technischer Perfektion auf seinem YONEX REV zeigte Yuto alles, musste sich am Ende jedoch knapp geschlagen geben. Der 2. Platz ist ein weiteres Top-Ergebnis, mit dem er seine Führung im World Championship Ranking verteidigt.

Eine fantastische Leistung zeigte auch Alessandro Barbieri. Der junge YONEX-Rider fuhr stark und sicherte sich den hervorragenden 4. Platz. Komplettiert wurde das starke Teamergebnis von Ruka Hirano, der auf dem 5. Platz landete. Drei YONEX-Fahrer in den Top 5 – das ist ein echtes Statement der Dominanz!

Damen: Rise Kudo stürmt auf das Podest

Bei den Damen sorgte Rise Kudo für den großen Jubelmoment. Das 16-jährige Ausnahmetalent bewies Nervenstärke und technisches Können auf höchstem Niveau. Sie fuhr sensationell auf den 3. Platz und sicherte sich damit ihren Platz auf dem Treppchen neben den weltbesten Fahrerinnen.

Sena Tomita, die Siegerin von Aspen, zeigte ebenfalls, dass sie zur absoluten Weltspitze gehört. Leider hatte sie Pech im Training vor ihrem Halbfinale und konnte dort nicht ihre volle Leistung abrufen. Dennoch belegte sie am Ende den starken 4. Platz und sammelte wertvolle Punkte für die Gesamtwertung.

China war ein voller Erfolg für das Team! Mit Yuto Totsuka und Rise Kudo auf dem Podium sowie Alessandro Barbieri und Sena Tomita direkt dahinter, zeigt YONEX eine unglaubliche Dichte an Weltklasse-Athleten.

Genting Resort Secret Garden, China — Snow League 2025 delivered breathtaking action in Beijing’s Olympic superpipe. The YONEX snowboard team put in a closed team performance and took two podium places plus further top-5 finishes.

Men: Totsuka second, Barbieri and Hirano in the top 5

The men’s final could hardly have been tighter. Our superstar Yuto Totsuka, winner of the opening event in Aspen, fought back into the decisive duel. Against Ayumu Hirano, Yuto produced an epic exchange. After answering in the second run with a world-class run, the decision had to fall in the third. With massive amplitude and technical precision on his YONEX REV, Yuto showed everything — but was beaten by a narrow margin. 2nd place is another top result, and he defends his lead in the World Championship ranking.

Alessandro Barbieri also put in a fantastic ride. The young YONEX rider rode strongly and took an excellent 4th. The team result was completed by Ruka Hirano in 5th. Three YONEX riders in the top 5 — a real statement of dominance.

Women: Rise Kudo storms onto the podium

On the women’s side Rise Kudo provided the big moment. The 16-year-old talent showed nerve and technical skill at the highest level. She rode to a sensational 3rd and took her place on the box next to the world’s best.

Sena Tomita, the Aspen winner, also showed she belongs at the very top. She had bad luck in training before her semi-final and could not put down her full level there. Even so she finished a strong 4th and collected valuable points for the overall standings.

China was a full success for the team. With Yuto Totsuka and Rise Kudo on the podium and Alessandro Barbieri and Sena Tomita right behind them, YONEX shows an incredible density of world-class athletes.

Am 10. September 1995, in einer Zeit, in der Snowboards fast ausschließlich aus Holzkernen bestanden, betrat Yonex Neuland. Mit der Einführung des weltweit ersten Modells mit einer reinen Karbongraphit-Struktur veränderten wir die Spielregeln. Was damals begann, jährt sich nun zum 30. Mal: Drei Jahrzehnte, in denen wir unermüdlich neue Möglichkeiten im Snowboarding erforscht haben.

Vom Court auf den Schnee: Die Carbon-Revolution

Unsere Expertise kam nicht von ungefähr. Wir nutzten die hochentwickelte Carbon-Technologie, die wir bereits im Badminton, Tennis und Golf perfektioniert hatten, und übertrugen sie auf den Schnee. Das Ziel? Ein Board zu schaffen, das scheinbare Gegensätze vereint: Leichtigkeit mit Haltbarkeit und Widerstandskraft mit Flexibilität. With the world’s first model using a pure carbon-graphite structure, we changed the rules. What began then now turns 30: three decades of relentlessly exploring new possibilities in snowboarding.

From the court to the snow: the carbon revolution

Our expertise did not come from nowhere. We took the advanced carbon technology we had already perfected in badminton, tennis and golf and transferred it to the snow. The goal? 2018 — STOMP-TECH 3.0 reduced swing weight further. Yuto Totsuka and Sena Tomita competed in PyeongChang, with Totsuka winning the men’s halfpipe World Cup.

2019 — Yuto Totsuka secured his second consecutive men’s halfpipe snowboard World Cup title.

2020 — To celebrate Yuto Totsuka’s US Open halfpipe win, the special model “REV YTS” was introduced worldwide.

2021 — The REGNA with CSMC Core reached an ultra-light 1,990 g. Totsuka won both the World Championships and the Winter X Games.

2022 — Introduction of the light CRIC structure for smoother manoeuvrability. Sena Tomita won Japan’s first bronze in women’s halfpipe. Yonex riders including Yuto Totsuka, Ruka Hirano, Sena Tomita and Ruki Tomita competed at the Winter Games in Beijing.

2024 — Aiki Kimura won the men’s Big Air World Cup title.
